Woot! Way to go, Dakoda. I've never caught a fish before.

U really looked like you knew what you were doing. So cool, I've never caught a fish. Bet your arms
were tired. Good sized fish, did
you throw it back or eat it?
Glad to have you back posting again.
We went up the Gondola ride at
Whistler which zooms you between 2 very high mountains. THe freakiest
one was one that you had to hike
to after getting off gondola.
It was just a chair with a bar across and it went straight up!
We went over ice fields and giant rock cliffs, Grandpa didn't like it, but I loved it.

Grandpa Jerry is impressed. I used to love fishing. When the fish first strikes your fishing lure, it really pulls hard, doesn't it!
It looks like a Brook Trout. Glad you put it back in the water, so it can go back down to Bikini Bottom and have a Crabby Patty with Spongebob and Patrick.

Mike said...

Looks like a trout!!!!I just keep catching sharks, they are fun to catch, but you get tired of them after a while!!!

Irish Gumbo said...

Excellent work, lad! Looks like a trout.

The last time I caught a fish, I dropped the rod in the water. Looks like you did a better job!

Kat said...

Nice fish ya got there! Congratulations!

And then you ate it right?

I've caught about 2 fish in my life, and I wasn't allowed to eat them :(

dude.. you got the makings of an awesome fisherman.. and I should know, I used to be one.

Keep doing it. Soon the fish'll see you coming and say "whoa, there's Dakota.. run!" (...or swim... you know what I mean)

Just make sure you're having fun. That's the best part.

wendysito said...

Dude.. spelled your name wrong. Sorry, Dakoda.

next round of bait is on me. :)

My son wants to start a blog too. He is at camp this weekend. When he comes back on Wednesday, I will help him set one up. Then, he can follow you.

He also likes to play music. He plays the guitar and the saxophone. Plus, he is a fast swimmer.

Have a good week. We will be back later to say hello again and to follow.

Great fish! I remember my first one. It was a Blue Gill (a pan fish that is blue with a little gold on the belly). I was using a bobber off of the dock. I was so excited, that it swallowed the hook.

Me, You, or Ellie said...

Did you eat it?

My 6-year-old son wants to know what you used for bait. He uses hotdogs in the pond behind our house. We catch some cool things, but nothing that big.

Congratulations!

Holy Fish Canoli! That's awesome :) I have a whole pond full of carp & trout and we can't catch a single one...so, if you're ever in France (where some crazy Norwegian-Americans bought a place--that's us!) & want to do some fishin'...come on over!!
Keep up the good work and you'll never starve....by the way, how'd it taste?

Impressive Fish Dakoda! I can't wait until I take my son fishing so he can catch his first fish too. He is only 2 years old so it will be a couple of years from now. I hope it's as big as yours.

Keep it up. The fish fear you!

Mrs. C. said...

Fabulous fish, young man! I hope you got to eat it too.

And good on ya for wearing your life jacket; I work with the beach patrol and surf rescue here and we see WAY too many people who get in trouble around water because they won't put one on.

So the fish died?

lol...just kiddin'.....

I caught a marlin once. It was in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Australia. You had to be strapped to the boat cos the marlins are real fighters, and they're big. This sounds like one of those made-up fishing stories doesn't it? Aren't all fishing stories made up?

Great catch, Dakoda!

Great photos. Reminded me of the one and only time my father and mother and brother and I went fishing together. I tried to cast from the boat and threw my rod and reel into the lake. My father was not happy.
So for you to have such a good experience really makes me smile.
