awesome job buddy!!! I am sure there will be many more to come!
Woot! Way to go, Dakoda. I've never caught a fish before.
U really looked like you knew what you were doing. So cool, I've never caught a fish. Bet your armswere tired. Good sized fish, didyou throw it back or eat it?Glad to have you back posting again. We went up the Gondola ride atWhistler which zooms you between 2 very high mountains. THe freakiestone was one that you had to hiketo after getting off gondola. It was just a chair with a bar across and it went straight up!We went over ice fields and giant rock cliffs, Grandpa didn't like it, but I loved it.
Grandpa Jerry is impressed. I used to love fishing. When the fish first strikes your fishing lure, it really pulls hard, doesn't it!It looks like a Brook Trout. Glad you put it back in the water, so it can go back down to Bikini Bottom and have a Crabby Patty with Spongebob and Patrick.
Looks like a trout!!!!I just keep catching sharks, they are fun to catch, but you get tired of them after a while!!!
Excellent work, lad! Looks like a trout. The last time I caught a fish, I dropped the rod in the water. Looks like you did a better job!
Nice fish ya got there! Congratulations!
And then you ate it right?I've caught about 2 fish in my life, and I wasn't allowed to eat them :(
Fabulous job!My son is looking over my shoulder and he is sooooo impressed with your fish.Guess I'll be taking him fishing soon!
That's a mighty fine looking fish you caught there! Congrats!
Great catch!!! Way to go. :)
dude.. you got the makings of an awesome fisherman.. and I should know, I used to be one. Keep doing it. Soon the fish'll see you coming and say "whoa, there's Dakota.. run!" (...or swim... you know what I mean)Just make sure you're having fun. That's the best part.
Dude.. spelled your name wrong. Sorry, Dakoda. next round of bait is on me. :)
My son wants to start a blog too. He is at camp this weekend. When he comes back on Wednesday, I will help him set one up. Then, he can follow you.He also likes to play music. He plays the guitar and the saxophone. Plus, he is a fast swimmer. Have a good week. We will be back later to say hello again and to follow.
Great blog, Dakoda . . . and great fish! I especially mean the little guys swimming up on the right. How'd you do that???
Excellent fish! Good goin'! You'll be ready for a shark tournament in no time!!
Great fish! I remember my first one. It was a Blue Gill (a pan fish that is blue with a little gold on the belly). I was using a bobber off of the dock. I was so excited, that it swallowed the hook.
Did you eat it?Ellie
Loved you pictures! Way to reel it in!
Congratulations on your catch! That's great. I only manage to catch tiny fish.
Good on ya mate. Nice catch!
Dude! You're a writer! I am a sixth grade teacher, so I know. When you go back to school this year, be sure and tell your teacher you have a writing gig! Awesome fish!
Oh yeah, Uncle Chad knows a GREAT bait shop, BTW.
Wow!!!My 6-year-old son wants to know what you used for bait. He uses hotdogs in the pond behind our house. We catch some cool things, but nothing that big.Congratulations!
Nice work, Dakoda! Now you get to start telling people the fish was "THIS BIG!" :-)
Holy Fish Canoli! That's awesome :) I have a whole pond full of carp & trout and we can't catch a single one...so, if you're ever in France (where some crazy Norwegian-Americans bought a place--that's us!) & want to do some fishin'...come on over!!Keep up the good work and you'll never starve....by the way, how'd it taste?
Woo-hoo! Awesome catch! :) Robin
Isn't it a great feeling to catch a fish? I've managed it a couple of times and it's always exciting.I hope you catch many more! Great job!PS - I love the song "Down with the Sickness" too!
Give me back that filet of fish, give me that fish...

Nice job, bud! Did you throw it back or fry it up for breakfast?
Impressive Fish Dakoda! I can't wait until I take my son fishing so he can catch his first fish too. He is only 2 years old so it will be a couple of years from now. I hope it's as big as yours.Keep it up. The fish fear you!
Fabulous fish, young man! I hope you got to eat it too.And good on ya for wearing your life jacket; I work with the beach patrol and surf rescue here and we see WAY too many people who get in trouble around water because they won't put one on.
So the fish died?lol...just kiddin'.....
I caught a marlin once. It was in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Australia. You had to be strapped to the boat cos the marlins are real fighters, and they're big. This sounds like one of those made-up fishing stories doesn't it? Aren't all fishing stories made up?
Great catch, Dakoda!
Good job on your first fish, dude! I hope you freed him from the net! Did you let him go or eat him for dinner?
WOW check you out! you look like a pro! good work!
NO WAY! That is WAY bigger than anything I have ever snagged! Awesome!
What a catch! WAY bigger than the first fish I caught. Mine was practically a gold fish.
Great job! I hope you had a great time! I've never fished before. Maybe I'll give it a try!
The way that pole was bending, he must have put up a big fight!
That is one cool fish, you look like an expert fisherman in those pictures too! I stopped by from your uncle's blog to say hello. You've got one strange (but cool) uncle.
What a great job you did on the fish! I don't like fishing, but maybe one day I will try it out. I don't think I could do as good a job as you did though!
thanks a really big fish

That fish had no chance with you at the rod--good job! I.
Awesome! Looved your photos, it was like being there in teh boat with you.
I'm impressed! I've only been fishing a few times and I've never managed to catch anything. Takes patience (and okay - maybe some skill). Good work!

Very nice! My daughter would be jealous. What kind of fish is it?
You're like the little Old Man and the Sea, like Ernest Hemmingway!Did you keep it? Did you eat it? Or did you throw it back? (oops - I just read someone else's comment and it looks like you threw it back)Congratulations on a great catch! Woo hoo!- Margaret

Dude, that's a HUGE fish. My daughter has been fishing for a few years now and has never caught a fish as big as that. Way to go!

I've never caught a fish that big-- you must have a natural talent. Way to go!
Geez you got a lotta comments here. Way to go on the fish. Did you throw it back or did you eat it?
You ROCK, kid. That's one more fish than I ever caught (because no one ever took me fishing. I'm going to go cry now.... ) You play the bass too??What, are you trying to get every single girl in elementary school? Is that really fair, Dakoda?
Hi Dakoda,That's a nice looking fish. You did a good job! I hope you can catch me a fish too someday. Lucia (Uncle Chad's sister-in-law)
Great photos. Reminded me of the one and only time my father and mother and brother and I went fishing together. I tried to cast from the boat and threw my rod and reel into the lake. My father was not happy. So for you to have such a good experience really makes me smile.
so when do we get the next post?
